About the role

Wealthsimple Operations Associates own and scale processes intelligently, with analytics, grit, and grace. We manage billions of dollars, so the stakes are high. About the team

Operations is the team that makes everything run. We own the systems, processes, and day-to-day execution that keep Wealthsimple functioning at scale — across trading, client support, compliance, and beyond. Within Operations, the Securities Lending Operations team works directly with the Trading Desk and other Operations Associates to manage daily lending activity, settlement, and counterparty relationships. We're a high-ownership team that works closely with Product, Finance, and the business to close gaps, reduce friction, and build for scale.

In this role you'll have the opportunity to:

• Join the Operations team, and work directly with our Senior Manager and Team Lead, Securities Lending Operations, Trading Desk, and other Operations Associates to execute on daily securities lending processes

• Assist in maintaining positioning by processing returns from counterparties and supporting the loan recall process

• Work to ensure timely loan and return settlement, and resolve related issues

• Collaborate with traders, product managers, engineering, and other operations teams to ensure effective and timely trade flow and settlement

• Communicate with counterparties via email or on calls to execute on loans and recalls, and resolve discrepancies

• Identify and resolve discrepancies in transactions

• Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of records and assist with audit requests

• Support front-office operations related to corporate actions and daily market movement

• Support billing and month-end processes

• Represent Wealthsimple in interactions with external counterparties and cultivate industry relationships

• Support the development of operational procedures as we build out our Options business

• Support the treasury team with cash movements, including billing

• Support the onboarding of new counterparties

Skills you bring:

• 3+ years of experience working at a broker-dealer, bank, capital markets firm, or pension fund

• A background in finance, accounting, business, or a related technical field, with strong business judgment and the ability to operate within tight deadlines

• Strong technical skills in Excel and Google Sheets, including formulas and pivot
