Summary

Rescale is hiring a Technical Accounting Manager to join their Finance & Accounting team. Rescale is pioneering the future of engineering and scientific discovery. Key skills: AI.

About the role

Rescale is pioneering the future of engineering and scientific discovery. As the leader in digital engineering, we’re transforming how products are developed—through intelligent automation, applied AI, data management, and the integration of the world’s largest network of engineering and R&D applications. Joining Rescale means becoming part of a diverse, collaborative, and mission-driven team that’s unlocking faster innovation across industries like aerospace, energy, life sciences, and manufacturing. We’re solving complex challenges that traditional HPC can’t—and we’re seeking passionate, curious minds to help build the next wave of breakthroughs.

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Accounting Manager to join our team!

As the Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in optimizing accounting operations, supporting scalability, and enabling impactful change at a fast growing company. You will operate as a highly hands-on individual contributor, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners across Finance, Tax, Payroll, and Operations.

In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Leading the month-end close across U.S. and international entities, ensuring timely and accurate accounting for operating expenses, banking activity, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and key balance sheet accounts.

  • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and flux analyses, ensuring accounts are fully substantiated with third-party support, clear documentation, and timely resolution of reconciling items.

  • Supporting revenue accounting processes to ensure accurate application of ASC 606, partnering with leadership on complex or non-standard arrangements.

  • Ensuring accuracy and integrity of payroll accounting across U.S. and international entities, including review of payroll journals, reconciliations, and related tax and liability accounts to ensure completeness and compliance.

  • Driving operational accuracy and efficiency across AP and AR, ensuring timeliness and alignment with internal controls and company policies.

  • Owning the execution of U.S. sales and indirect tax compliance, including monitoring nexus, managing registrations, coordinating with Avalara and external advisors, and reviewing filings for accuracy and completeness.

  • Preparing and reviewing audit schedules, PBC requests, and supporting workpapers for external audits and regulatory reviews.

  • Leading process, systems, and close-efficiency improvements, including standardizing month-end procedures, enhancing reconciliation workflows, and identifying automation opportunities.

Key Qualifications:

  • 6-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting and industry experience, with exposure to high-growth technology, SaaS, and/or pre-IPO environments.

  • CPA strongly preferred.

  • Strong technical foundation in U.S. GAAP with hands-on experience applying accounting principles in a dynamic business setting.

  • Experience operating in fast-scaling environments, with comfort navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities.

  • Proficiency with NetSuite strongly preferred; experience with close automation, spend management, payroll, or billing systems (e.g., FloQast, Airbase, BambooHR, or similar) is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to improve, standardize, and automate accounting processes to drive scalability, efficiency, and strong internal controls.

  • High standards for accuracy and documentation, with attention to detail while maintaining a broader business perspective.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-growth setting.

  • Clear and confident communicator capable of collaborating cross-functionally on accounting execution matters.

  • Collaborative, team-oriented professional who operates independently and drives outcomes.

Rescale is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age. As part of our standard hiring process for new employees, employment with Rescale will be contingent upon successful completion of a comprehensive background check. Here at Rescale, we are committed to being transparent in our policies around candidate privacy.
