Summary

Pantheon is hiring a Staff Product Designer to join their Design team. We believe in putting the magic of the internet in everyone's hands. Key skills: AI, Figma.

About the role

About Pantheon

Pantheon is the WebOps platform for websites that deliver extraordinary results. We believe in putting the magic of the internet in everyone's hands. That's why we're so passionate about helping developers, IT and marketing develop, test, and release website changes faster and more reliably so they can build and maintain websites that create value for their organizations. Our cloud native software makes it easy to securely manage a single website or thousands of websites across multiple teams in one platform.

Pantheon's core company values are Trust, Teamwork, Passion, and Customers First. At Pantheon, we work hard and play harder, valuing individuality, humor, and balance. We're enthusiastic participants in several open-source communities and have real relationships with many of our most active customers. If all of this sounds interesting to you, read on!

The Role

We're looking for a Principal Product Designer/Builder who combines design craft with product leadership. You'll define UX/UI strategy and lead product direction for an important part of Pantheon's product roadmap, working as a true product partner. This is a rare hybrid role: you'll design, build, lead, and drive product strategy from day one.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Proficiency using AI tools to accelerate design workflows and increase velocity
  • Strong hands-on product design skills with the ability to take products from concept through high-fidelity designs and implementation
  • Demonstrated experience designing products that incorporate AI capabilities and intelligent features
  • Ability to define the vision for product design within a software organization
  • Expertise in overseeing the evolution of design systems, ensuring consistency and scalability across all products and platforms
  • Deep expertise in conducting research to inform long-term product strategy and identify new software opportunities
  • Ability to drive organizational change and process improvements to enhance design maturity
  • Expertise in using success metrics to evaluate the impact of design solutions on user outcomes
  • Ability to mentor designers and provide strategic input to product and engineering leadership
  • Ability to articulate product strategy, design strategy, vision, and outcomes to senior leadership, product teams, and stakeholders
  • Willingness to represent the company's design and product expertise at industry events and conferences

What You Bring to the Table

  • Track record of using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Figma AI, generative design tools, LLM-assisted workflows) to accelerate building
  • Experience in product and product design leadership, with a proven track record of defining and implementing successful UX strategies for SaaS products
  • Familiarity with Claude Design and Claude code
  • A strong desire to make an impact
  • Experience codifying ambiguous problems and prioritizing how to build momentum in solving them
  • Experience in new product development, including 0→1 product launches
  • Demonstrated ability to shape the product vision for a product and influence overall product strategy
  • Experience in user/customer research (execution, synthesis, insight identification)
  • Proven track record of mentoring designers and fostering a design-driven culture
  • Ability to effectively communicate with executives, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
  • Experience contributing to the broader design community through publications, presentations, or thought leadership

What We Offer

We have all the usual perks and benefits but what we can really offer you is a fantastic work environment powered by an amazing team.

  • Industry competitive compensation and equity plan
  • Flexible time off, sick days, and 13 paid holidays
  • Comprehensive medical insurance including Health, Dental and Vision
  • Paid parental leave (plus fertility, adoption and other family planning benefits)
  • In-office workspace (San Francisco & Chicago)
  • Monthly allowance for wellness, reading and access to LinkedIn Learning for continued development
  • Events and activities both team-based and company wide that inspire, educate and cultivate

Pantheon is an equal opportunity employer and we welcome applications from all backgrounds regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, disability, or any other classification protected by law. Pantheon complies with federal and local disability laws and makes reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees with disabilities. If you need a reasonable accommodation due to a disability for any part of the interview process, please contact talent@pantheon.io.
