Gridunity is hiring a Senior Manager, Market Intelligence & Partnerships to join their Sales & Business team. GridUnity is a trusted partner to leading utilities, grid operators, and policymakers. Key skills: Go.
WHO WE ARE
GridUnity is the industry leader in interconnection life cycle management, delivering cutting-edge software solutions that eliminate bottlenecks in the interconnection process and accelerate the transition to a more affordable, sustainable, and resilient energy future.
Our Mission
We unite all grid interconnection stakeholders on a single platform that converts centralized data into actionable intelligence and accelerates the transition to a reliable, sustainable, and cost-efficient electric grid.
GridUnity is a trusted partner to leading utilities, grid operators, and policymakers. Our technology solutions tackle the interconnection queue backlog by significantly reducing processing times. Whether cutting transmission interconnection timelines from years to months or enabling distribution applications to be processed within a day, we help accelerate energy projects at every scale.
Our Vision
Energizing the planet with a faster, smarter, and more sustainable grid.
As Senior Manager, Market Intelligence & Partnerships, you will serve as a senior individual contributor responsible for shaping GridUnity’s integrated view of business market structure, competitive and partner dynamics, regulatory signals, and customer demand and adoption signals — and translating that understanding into both decision-ready insights for executive leadership and an actionable view of strategic partnerships that advance GridUnity’s position in the market. You will help embed company strategy into GridUnity’s product roadmap, create organizational clarity on strategic direction, and help drive external strategic initiatives, including partnerships.
You will own the Market Map as a strategic decision tool, lead synthesis across competitive and partner intelligence, market signals, and regulatory shifts, and identify and execute product partnerships that reflect GridUnity’s competitive posture and ecosystem strategy. You will partner directly with Product, Sales, Customer Experience, and leadership to ensure GridUnity’s product strategy anticipates market shifts, competitive dynamics, and regulatory change — and that the right external relationships are in place to act on them.
This role carries significant ownership, influence, and cross-functional responsibility.
This position reports to the Director, Product Enablement. This is a senior individual contributor role; leadership is exercised through influence and expertise rather than direct management.
Own and maintain GridUnity’s Market Map as a strategic decision tool, providing a clear, structured view of the interconnection and planning ecosystem — including competitive positioning, business structure, ecosystem dynamics, and emerging risks.
Develop and maintain competitive intelligence on key players, adjacent solutions, and new entrants, including capabilities, positioning, and potential impact on GridUnity strategy.
Identify competitive dynamics, whitespace opportunities, and structural market shifts that inform product direction and differentiation.
Define and maintain GridUnity’s “compete, coexist, or integrate” posture across adjacent solution categories, translating ecosystem analysis into clear recommendations for leadership.
Integrate outputs from competitive intelligence, regulatory monitoring, tariff analysis, Market Radar, and Voice of Customer activities into decision-ready insights for executive leadership.
Lead development of market, competitive, customer, and regulatory implication briefs, translating signals into clear product, positioning, and capability implications.
Ensure insight quality, consistency, and relevance across the Product Strategy Library, with a focus on decision usability and strategic clarity.
Develop GridUnity’s product partnership strategy — identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing with leadership buy-in technology, integration, and ecosystem partnerships surfaced through Market Map and competitive intelligence work.
Lead the full lifecycle of strategic product partnerships: from opportunity identification and business case development through management of negotiations and ongoing relationships.
Lay the ground work, recommend structures, and manage product partnerships, including leading or managing negotiations (as appropriate to size and sensitivity) for technology integrations, API partnerships, ecosystem alliances, and other strategic product relationships.
Coordinate with Sales and commercial teams where product partnerships intersect with go-to-market relationships, serving as the responsible owner of product partnership strategy across the organization.
Serve as Product Enablement’s lead in roadmap and strategy discussions, providing market, competitive, partner, and regulatory context, framing, and informed judgment.
Provide market, competitive, and regulatory perspective to the Product Alignment Council, Product Lifecycle Council, and other leadership forums.
Collaborate with Product, Customer Experience, and Sales to ensure insights are embedded into planning, rollout, and adoption strategies.
Provide functional leadership across insight activities, setting priorities, standards, and synthesis approaches, including competitive intelligence and market analysis frameworks.
Partner closely with analysts and subject matter experts cross-functionally to guide work without formal line management.
Support evolution of Product Enablement processes to ensure scalability and long-term value, particularly in market intelligence and decision-support infrastructure.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Policy, Economics, Energy Systems, Engineering, or a related field (Equivalent professional experience may be substituted)
Significant experience in market strategy, competitive intelligence, product strategy, business development, management consulting, product partnerships, or related roles in the energy or technology sector
Experience operating in a SaaS or technology-enabled environment with exposure to product strategy, positioning, or go-to-market decision-making
Demonstrated ability to conduct competitive analysis, market mapping, and ecosystem analysis, and translate findings into strategic recommendations
Demonstrated experience negotiating and structuring commercial or product partnership agreements, including managing contract discussions and external relationships on behalf of an organization
Working knowledge of the major characteristics and trends in transmission and distribution, and understanding of interconnection and planning processes sufficient to assess market impact and product implications
Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex, ambiguous inputs into clear, strategic guidance for senior stakeholders
Proven ability to influence product strategy or business decisions through influence in cross-functional environments
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, structured, and executive-level narratives
Experience owning and evolving market maps, competitive landscapes, or ecosystem models as decision tools in a SaaS or platform business
Deep understanding of utility market structure and regulatory dynamics across multiple jurisdictions, with the ability to anticipate structural shifts
Track record of identifying, negotiating, and managing technology or product integration partnerships, including contract definition and ongoing relationship management
Experience shaping product positioning, differentiation, or go-to-market strategy based on market and competitive insights
Track record of operating as a trusted advisor to senior product or executive leaders, influencing strategic direction
Background in specialized energy strategy consulting or market advisory roles, with demonstrated application to product or platform strategy
