Job Description

CSCI Consulting is seeking an experienced SAP Functional Analyst – Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to support a mission-critical Department of War (DoW) enterprise modernization program. This large-scale SAP S/4HANA initiative is transforming transportation, logistics, maintenance, supply chain, and financial operations across the DoD. 

The SAP EHS Functional Analyst will serve as a functional subject matter expert responsible for the analysis, design, configuration, testing, implementation, and sustainment of SAP EHS solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, developers, and cross-functional SAP teams to ensure environmental compliance, workplace safety, hazardous materials management, and regulatory reporting requirements are effectively integrated into enterprise business processes and SAP S/4HANA capabilities.

This position requires a strong understanding of SAP EHS functionality, business process integration, and Agile delivery practices within a complex ERP modernization environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into SAP EHS functional solutions
  • Configure and support SAP EHS components, including Product Safety, Dangerous Goods Management, Industrial Hygiene, Incident Management, Occupational Health, and Environmental Compliance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, validate, and refine functional requirements and user stories
  • Support end-to-end SAP solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and sustainment activities
  • Develop functional specifications and work closely with technical teams to support custom enhancements, interfaces, reports, and integrations
  • Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and other SAFe Agile ceremonies
  • Support data migration, validation, and cleansing activities associated with SAP S/4HANA implementations
  • Perform system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect resolution, and production support activities
  • Collaborate with logistics, maintenance, supply chain, transportation, and financial management teams to ensure cross-functional process alignment
  • Support compliance with federal, DoD, OSHA, EPA, and environmental reporting requirements
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, configuration workbooks, training materials, and standard operating procedures
  • Provide functional support, knowledge transfer, and training to end users and client stakeholders
  • Assist in identifying process improvements and opportunities to optimize business operations through SAP EHS capabilities

Minimum Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Five (5) or more years of SAP functional experience supporting SAP EHS solutions
  • Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA implementations, upgrades, or modernization efforts
  • Hands-on experience with one or more SAP EHS components, including: Product Safety, Dangerous Goods Management, Incident Management, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Compliance
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements
  • Strong understanding of business process design, system configuration, and testing methodologies
  • Experience supporting system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and production support
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to environmental, health, and safety compliance.
  • Experience working within Agile or SAFe delivery environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
  • Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional presence

Preferred Skills

  • SAP S/4HANA certification
  • SAP EHS certification or advanced EHS training
  • Experience integrating SAP EHS with MM, PM, WM/EWM, TM, GTS, or other SAP modules
  • Experience supporting hazardous material tracking, transportation compliance, or supply chain operations
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DoD environmental compliance, and hazardous materials regulations
  • Experience supporting large-scale ERP modernization programs
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, testing automation, or continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) environments
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
  • Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
  • Past experience working with a Federal agency
  • Department of War experience is a plus!
