Summary

Sweedpos.Com is hiring a Product Owner to join their Product team. We're Sweed https://sweedpos.com/#/, a product-driven startup building an all-in-one cannabis retail platform. Key skills: Go, AI.

About the role

Hi there!

We're Sweed, a product-driven startup building an all-in-one cannabis retail platform. We're looking for a Product Owner to join our team remotely and help us scale and optimize our platform.

About Us

At Sweed, we’re reimagining how cannabis retailers operate. Our enterprise-grade platform combines POS, eCommerce, Marketing, Analytics and Inventory Management into a single, seamless solution—eliminating the need for multiple third-party tools.

We believe in simplicity, efficiency, and innovation. That’s why we build for scalability and performance, making life easier for cannabis retailers while driving real business growth.

Why We’re Doing This

At Sweed, we believe in the medicinal potential of cannabis. It has been shown to help with chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and many other conditions. Despite the lingering stigma, we see cannabis as a powerful tool for improving lives.

The industry is evolving rapidly, and we’re here to drive that transformation—making cannabis retail more efficient, accessible, and customer-friendly.

Where We Are Now

We’ve been on the market for 7 years, continuously growing and refining our product.

Our focus is on earning customer trust, which means constantly improving our delivery processes and rolling out new features. At the same time, we navigate the complex legal landscape of the cannabis industry, ensuring our platform remains compliant and future-proof.

Team Structure

Our total team size is over 200 people:

The development team is distributed globally and organized into cross-functional product teams. These teams typically consist of 8–12 members, including front-end and back-end developers, QA specialists, and analysts.
Each team is led by a Team Lead and a Product Owner, ensuring effective collaboration and clear direction.
Meanwhile, our CEO, account managers, and customer success team are based in the USA, working closely with us to align product development with business and user needs.

Why We’re Hiring

We're expanding our product function and looking for experienced Product Owners to join one of our core product streams.

This isn't a hire for a single opening — we're building a bench of strong product thinkers and will match you with the right stream based on your background and interests:

  • Point-of-Sale & Store Operations

  • eCommerce & Customer Experience

  • Compliance & Inventory Management

  • Reporting & Analytics

  • Integrations & Developer Tools

  • Marketing Tools

If you're passionate about building software that solves real operational problems — and want to work closely with engineering, design, and business stakeholders — we'd love to talk.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Own your product stream end-to-end: from discovery and hypothesis validation through execution, release, and iteration

  • Define and maintain a product roadmap aligned with company strategy; keep the backlog prioritized and meaningful

  • Run product discovery using LLM tools (Claude, ChatGPT and similar): turn ambiguous problems into structured hypotheses, prototypes, and testable concepts — fast

  • Prototype and validate product ideas quickly: turn rough concepts into user flows, mockups, or lightweight demos

  • Conduct market and customer research to generate actionable insights that guide development priorities

  • Collaborate effectively with design, engineering, sales, customer success, and leadership to align product work with business goals and customer needs.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years in a product role: PO, PM, Business Analyst, or Project Manager - what matters is proven ownership of outcomes, not just backlog management

  • Experience working on web and/or mobile products

  • Strong technical fluency — able to go deep with engineers, understand system constraints, and make informed build-vs-buy decisions

  • Solid product judgment: you know what great looks like across SaaS UX, onboarding, activation, and product-led growth

  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments — you define the right next steps without waiting for detailed instructions

  • Solid understanding of Agile (Kanban, Scrum; Waterfall is a plus)

  • Excellent English (Upper-Intermediate+)

  • Leadership mindset and ownership attitude

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with AI tools in a product workflow

  • Background in retail, POS, or compliance-heavy products

What Else Matters?

  • Execution focus – You are not only good at defining direction, but also at driving delivery and making things happen.

  • Resilience and judgment – You are comfortable working through ambiguity, pressure, competing priorities, and tough stakeholder conversations.

  • Practical AI mindset – You are curious about AI and can identify where it creates real product or business value, without treating it as hype.

What We Offer

  • Salary in USD (B2B contract with the US company)

  • 100% remote – We’re a remote-first company, no offices needed!

  • Flexible working hours – Core team time: 09:00-15:00 GMT (flexible per team)

  • 20 paid vacation days per year

  • 12 holidays per year

  • 3 sick leave days

  • Medical insurance after probation

  • Equipment reimbursement (laptops, monitors, etc.)

Hiring Process

  • Recruiter Call (45 minute)

  • A short home assignment

  • Technical Interview (60 min)

  • Final Interview (up to 60 min)
