Summary

Lendbuzz is hiring a Legal Specialist to join their Legal team. At Lendbuzz, we believe financial opportunity should be more personalized and fair.

About the role

At Lendbuzz, we believe financial opportunity should be more personalized and fair. We develop innovative technologies that provide underserved and overlooked borrowers with better access to credit. From our employees to our dealers, partners, and borrowers, we’ve built a company and a culture around a resolute belief in the promise and power of diversity. We value independent and critical thinking.

The Legal Specialist reports directly to the General Counsel. This person will play a meaningful role in advancing Lendbuzz’s legal function, including managing active litigation matters, supporting day-to-day legal operations, and collaborating with both internal teams and outside counsel to move cases and projects forward efficiently.

Note - The final interview round will be conducted in person at our Boston office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and advance affirmative and defensive litigation matters, including tracking case status, deadlines, and critical next steps

  • Partner closely with the Senior Legal Operations Specialist in preparing case files, organizing matter documentation, and maintaining accurate records across active matters

  • Work closely with outside counsel to gather materials, respond to requests, and help advance cases through each stage of the litigation lifecycle

  • Coordinate internally with relevant teams (e.g., Operations, Finance, Servicing) to collect information and documentation needed for legal matters

  • Support the Legal Department in deploying, managing, and improving tools, technology systems, and organizational workflows that drive team efficiency

  • Master and utilize Lendbuzz’s proprietary tools and cloud platforms as a central part of daily data workflows

  • Draft and review routine legal correspondence, demand letters, and other matter-related documents under attorney supervision

  • Help maintain the Legal Department’s matter management systems, calendars, and filing structures

  • Assist with additional and cross-functional legal projects and department initiatives as needed

  • Key Requirements:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a paralegal or legal specialist within a corporate legal/compliance department OR 2+ years of extensive operational experience handling automotive titles, dealership processing, or automotive loan servicing

  • Prior exposure to the litigation lifecycle, legal operations frameworks, or digital matter management systems

  • Direct experience working within auto lending, consumer finance, asset recovery, or high-volume collections litigation is a significant plus

  • A detail-oriented self-starter who can work independently in a remote or hybrid environment while keeping team priorities perfectly aligned

  • Exceptional organizational skills with a proven capacity to manage and balance multiple complex, open legal matters simultaneously

  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills for collaborating across internal teams and with outside legal counsel

  • Strong willingness and capacity to learn proprietary software systems, adapt to updated tech stacks, and maintain neat digital files

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program is a plus
