Head of Quality Assurance Engineering

Revealtech

Software DevelopmentManagement

Summary

Revealtech is hiring a Head of Quality Assurance Engineering to join their Software Development team. Reveal is the Digital Arms Room for the Modern Warrior — providing the tactical intelligence and automation platform for physical, human, and digital terrain at the edge. Key skills: Android, CI/CD, Linux.

About the role

About Reveal Technology
Founded in 2019, Reveal is a dynamic startup revolutionizing field operations by delivering software tools and intelligence to operators in remote, disconnected, and extreme environments. Reveal is the Digital Arms Room for the Modern Warrior — providing the tactical intelligence and automation platform for physical, human, and digital terrain at the edge.

Our flagship products include Farsight, a 3D processing and mission planning platform that transforms complex terrain into operational advantage, and Identifi, a secure identity verification solution designed for rapid, trusted identification in dynamic environments. In 2026, Reveal expanded its software portfolio to include Chronos and Anomaly 6, further strengthening its capabilities across the modern battlefield.

Reveal exists to serve defense, security, and public safety missions where time is compressed, information is contested, and precision matters. We are scaling our team and technology to meet the accelerating demands of modern warfare and national security.

About the Role
As the Head of QA, you will own the overarching quality strategy, test automation infrastructure, and release governance across our entire product stack. This is a foundational, hands-on leadership role. You will bridge the gap between product requirements, architecture, and CI/CD infrastructure, and scale a lean team of QA engineers to deliver quality across multiple products and platforms (Windows, Linux, Android, Cloud, and XR).

You’ll be joining a collaborative QA group that takes ownership from day one and has a direct impact on how features are built and released. This is an opportunity to be part of a team where quality isn’t just tested at the end—it’s built into everything we do.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of ~7 QA engineers across 3+ product lines to perform both manual and automated testing as well as release management
  • Evaluate, implement, and scale AI-driven testing platforms and LLM-assisted workflows (e.g., autonomous API testing, self-healing UI selectors, visual regression models) to
  • automate 70%+ of mechanical testing.
  • Build, run, and maintain automation using Unity3D (C#) and Playwright (TypeScript).
  • Define and execute a modern, risk-based quality engineering vision that matches a continuous deployment (CI/CD) paradigm.
  • Partner with engineers to design test plans for complex, multi-platform features involving rich visual and geospatial data.
  • Perform end-to-end product testing across Windows, Android, XR, ATAK, and Linux.
  • Partner with individual QA Leads to mentor other QA engineers in automation techniques, tooling development, and modern QA strategies.
  • Help define and refine QA processes to ensure consistent, scalable testing across all platforms.
  • Requirements

  • 7-12 years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, or software engineering
  • 3+ years of experience leading and developing distributed QA teams across multiple products or technical domains, including coaching, mentoring, and growing QA engineers and technical leads.
  • Demonstrated experience building, scaling, or maturing a Quality Engineering function, including defining strategy, processes, tooling, and quality standards across multiple product areas.
  • Bachelors Degree in a technical field or relevant experience
  • Automation Mastery: Deep, production-grade proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python, with expert-level command of modern frameworks like Playwright
  • CI/CD Expert: Thorough understanding of Git workflows and CI/CD orchestration tools such as GitHub Actions
  • AI Fluency: Demonstrable experience evaluating or deploying generative AI capabilities, agentic automation frameworks, or self-healing test tools.
  • Experience with Linux/OSX/Windows command line
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Nice to Haves

  • Experience in Geospatial Testing Environments
  • Exposure to ATAK, tactical mobile applications, or field-data workflows.
  • Experience with Android ADB tools, Android debugging, or instrumentation-based testing.
  • Compensation

  • Salary ($140,000 - $160,000) + Equity
  • Salary is determined by the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
  • Benefits

  • Medical, Dental, Vision coverage
  • HSA/FSA options
  • Parental Leave
  • 401(k): 100% match for the first 6% contributed
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off
  • Home Office Stipend
