About the role

At Standard Bots, we're revolutionizing real-world automation by making robotic systems accessible to everyone. Our AI-powered platform enables robots to tackle unprecedented challenges through an intuitive instruction interface, bringing the power of software automation to physical spaces.

What you'll do

• Provide on-site technical support for customers including diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and optimization of Standard Bots robots

• Conduct preventive maintenance visits and safety inspections to ensure optimal robot performance

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues both on-site and remotely

• Provide remote technical support via phone, email, and video conferencing when on-site visits are not required

• Train customers on robot operation, programming, and basic troubleshooting procedures

• Document all service activities — including ticket notes, parts usage, and resolution details — in our CRM system
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure proper tools and equipment are available for service calls

• Collaborate with internal teams to escalate complex issues and contribute feedback for product improvements

• Achieve field service KPIs for ticket resolution and first-time fix rates


Basic Qualifications:

Travel Requirement: This role will travel up to 80% of the time

• Associate degree or higher in a technical field, engineering, mechatronics, or related discipline

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in robotics, industrial automation, or electromechanical systems

• Proven experience with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting at customer sites

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to travel extensively (60–80% field time)

• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and multimeters and the ability to read and interpret technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and schematics

• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various manufacturing environments

• Excellent customer service skills with professional communication abilities

• Located within 1 hour of a major airport

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with collaborative robots (cobots) or industrial robot maintenance and repair

• Experience with PLC systems, industrial controllers, or automation networks

• Familiarity with machine vision systems, sensors, grippers, and end-of-arm tooling

• Programming knowledge in Python, C++, or robot programming languages
• Experience with Linux/Ubuntu operating systems and networking fundamentals

• Certifications in robotics, electrical safety, or related technical disciplines

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $120,000, depending on experience. We are open to a variety of seniority levels for this role and will build compensation packages that are commensurate with seniority and skill level. Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Standard Bots. All Full-Time Employees are eligible for Employee Stock Options. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees.
