Summary

Loadsmart is hiring a Content Marketing Specialist to join their Marketing team. Loadsmart is a growth-stage technology company valued at over $1 billion (a true Tech Unicorn)!

About the role

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN JOINING AN INNOVATIVE LOGISTICS TECHNOLOGY COMPANY?

Loadsmart is a growth-stage technology company valued at over $1 billion (a true Tech Unicorn)!

We are a collection of industry veterans and user-centered engineers using innovative technology to fearlessly reinvent the future of freight by helping shippers, brokers, warehouses and carriers to move more with less.

With headquarters in Chicago and a globally distributed remote team, Loadsmart continues to attract top talent committed to driving meaningful change. We seek professionals who embody our core values: curiosity, clarity, results, commitment, and teamwork.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Content Marketing Specialist to our team! We are seeking a research-driven, analytical, and highly organized professional with a passion for content marketing.

As a Content Marketing Specialist at Loadsmart, you are responsible for managing the production of high-quality, SEO-optimized content that drives organic traffic, generates leads, and establishes Loadsmart as a thought leader in the logistics and supply chain technology space. You will work closely with our Content Marketing Manager to execute our content strategy, overseeing the production of 20-25 articles per month across multiple content pillars, including TMS, freight management, supply chain operations, and logistics technology.

In this role, you'll be a hands-on content operations specialist who manages freelance writers, conducts keyword research, creates detailed content briefs, edits finished content, and optimizes everything for search engines. You'll translate complex logistics concepts into clear briefs for writers, then polish their work to ensure it meets Loadsmart's quality and SEO standards.

Job Type: Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
LOCATION: Remote

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

  • Content Operations & Project Management: Manage production of 20-25 SEO-optimized articles per month by coordinating with freelance writers, ensuring deadlines are met, and maintaining quality standards
  • Keyword Research & Strategy: Conduct comprehensive keyword research to identify content opportunities and create detailed content briefs with target keywords, search intent, and competitive analysis
  • Content Brief Creation: Develop detailed outlines and assignments for freelance writers including keyword targets, article structure, internal linking requirements, and reference materials
  • Freelancer Management: Assign tasks to freelance writers, track progress, ensure timely delivery, provide feedback, and maintain a roster of reliable writers
  • Content Editing: Review and edit all content from freelancers for accuracy, clarity, brand voice, readability, and SEO best practices before publication
  • On-Page & Technical SEO: Optimize all content for search engines including title tags, meta descriptions, header structure, internal linking, image alt text, and URL optimization
  • Content Publishing: Format and publish optimized content in our CMS, ensuring proper categorization, tagging, technical implementation, and final QA
  • Performance Monitoring: Track content performance metrics (traffic, rankings, conversions) and identify opportunities for content updates and optimization
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with product marketing managers and subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years of content marketing and SEO experience, preferably in B2B SaaS, logistics, supply chain, or technology industries
  • Proven SEO expertise with demonstrated ability to optimize content for search rankings and drive organic traffic growth
  • Freelancer management experience: Track record of successfully managing freelance writers, agencies, or external content creators to deliver high-quality work on deadline
  • Project management skills: Ability to manage 20-25+ content projects simultaneously, juggle multiple deadlines, and keep writers on schedule
  • Strong research and brief-writing skills: Ability to quickly understand complex technical topics and translate them into clear, detailed content briefs for writers
  • Technical SEO knowledge: Deep understanding of keyword research, on-page optimization, information gain, internal linking strategies, content structure, and technical SEO elements
  • Excellent editing and on-page SEO skills: Ability to edit for clarity, accuracy, brand voice, and SEO optimization while maintaining the writer's voice
  • Self-starter mindset: Comfortable working independently, managing your own workload, and making decisions with minimal supervision
  • Tool proficiency: Experience with SEMrush, Google Analytics, HubSpot (or similar CMS), Google Search Console, and project management tools
  • Portfolio or work samples: Must provide examples of content briefs created, content managed/edited, or SEO results from managed content
