We’re looking for a proactive, empathetic, and detail-oriented CLX Car Advocate, Total Loss to join our growing team. In this specialized claims role, you’ll be a cornerstone in helping our customers navigate one of the most challenging experiences, a total loss of their vehicle. You’ll combine your expert knowledge of auto claims with a compassionate touch, driving fair, fast, and above all, exceptional service for every customer.

Your work ensures our customers feel supported and clearly guided as we negotiate and settle total loss claims, helping us deliver on Lemonade’s mission to make insurance lovable, even at life’s hardest moments.

In this role you’ll

  • Investigate and manage total loss auto claims through resolution, following company guidelines and state/federal regulations to ensure fair, timely settlements

  • Evaluate vehicle valuations and estimate documents to accurately determine total loss status and settlement amount

  • Guide customers through the total loss process with clear, compassionate communication, addressing questions about settlements, lienholders, salvage, title requirements, and next steps

  • Negotiate with customers and third parties to reach prompt and equitable settlements, while ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements

  • Coordinate with vendors, adjusters, and other departments to resolve complex claims and ensure a seamless customer experience

  • Document all claim activity comprehensively and accurately, upholding compliance and transparency

  • Contribute to team performance goals and process improvements, always seeking ways to elevate the customer experience and drive better outcomes

  • Coordinate with Title Express and Copart to oversee the title paperwork and sale of salvage

What you’ll need

  • Prior auto claims handling experience, with a focus on total loss preferred

  • Understanding of claims regulations, valuation processes, and settlement best practices for total loss cases

  • Strong research, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

  • Top-level written and verbal communication: able to explain complex processes without insurance jargon

  • Excellent organization and documentation abilities

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced startup

  • Experience with modern claims management tools (Blender, Copart, Mitchell) and cloud-based software (Google Workspace, Workday, Slack)

  • Lemonade expects all advocates to have and maintain an adjusters license in good standing. If you do not currently have a license, our team will work with you to obtain the license within your first 3 months

  • Ability to work remotely

Lemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $60,000 - $72,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Speak to your recruiter to hear more about the specific salary range for your preferred location.
