The schedules are dependent on business needs and could include any combination of days or hours to service a 24/7/365 clinic.
About the Role
We are seeking an actively practicing employed (W2) Physician to join our leadership team as a Clinical Lead on the overnight team. The Clinical Lead plays a pivotal role in our primary care group practice that combines direct patient care with significant leadership responsibilities, including playing a key role in the day-to-day management of the team and contributing to the strategic development of clinical services.
This position is a 0.25 FTE administrative role (10 hours per week). This will reduce the clinical portion of the incumbent’s clinician role to 0.75 FTE (27 clinical contact hours + 3 administrative hours). The incumbent will remain a 1.0 FTE (full time) clinician (covering both leadership and clinical roles). There is a $5000 annual administrative stipend available for the position in addition to the current salary being received as a full time employed clinician.
The clinical lead works closely with the Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer to implement the company’s strategic goals through shared leadership duties, including participation in a rotating on-call schedule for urgent clinical escalations outside of standard business hours (evenings, weekends, holidays). Given the nature of leadership roles, there may be some weeks where the time demands of the leadership role flex beyond the 10 hours allocated and may require flexibility to be present to meet with clinicians when they are on shift (e.g., evenings, weekends, etc.).
What You'll Do
In addition to providing patient care, will have day-to-day leadership responsibility and serve as the primary point of contact for a team of approximately 12 - 15 clinicians.
Lead the onboarding and comprehensive clinical training of all new hires, ensuring they are thoroughly aligned in clinical standards, operational workflows, and organizational culture.
Active participation in daily huddles and meetings to effectively cascade operational updates, policy changes, and performance expectations to ensure complete alignment and accountability.
Responsible for performance management of the team including coaching, accountability through corrective action and providing assistance in ongoing evaluation of care being provided.
Work closely with Operations colleagues to develop clinician schedules, manage time off requests, participate in recruitment/onboarding activities.
This role requires the Lead to take 1 in 5 clinical call on a weekly basis. Call involves helping on the queue when there are volume issues or licensing gaps that cannot be addressed by any other means.
Serve as an active participant in the development of clinical services including providing input and updating clinical processes and ongoing training of clinicians to fulfill the company’s strategic goals.
Share in leadership responsibilities, including but not limited to rotating on-call schedule outside of traditional business hours (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) and providing support as needed on the queue when there are volume issues or licensing gaps that cannot be addressed by any other means.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
Degree as an MD or DO required
7+ years clinical practice experience as an MD, DO
2+ years prior clinical supervisory or people leadership experience required
Ability to participate in limited required business travel is required
Ability to work overnight shift required
Active licenses in a minimum of 7 states and willingness to obtain licenses in any additional states required by the organization
Ability to participate in clinician meetings at times that clinicians are working required
Preferred Skills
Prior experience in change management is a plus
Previous experience developing or participating in the development of clinical protocols
Possess excellent communication, clinical judgement and patient engagement skills
Self-motivated and independent, with a strong capacity for teamwork and collaboration
Proficient in EMR systems
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail , with the ability to manage time effectively
Adaptable to evolving technology, including AI-driven tools and digital platforms
